Cousins...

How fun is that these little cousins are so close in age...

I love this first one... it's like he's saying... "HEY... I LIKE YOUR TOY BETTER"... :)

By this time of the session... these little guys were melting down... it's tough being a "happy model" for a long time...

I love, love, love this next one... "O" had been melting down... so Dad took over... and just started rocking back and forth with him... and little "O" became very peaceful.  While he's looking at me... I don't think he was aware that I was taking his picture...

Life can change in 30 seconds...

This wasn't a portrait session... rather (aptly put by "LA") it was an afternoon capturing "moments of pure happiness, childhood innocence, girly fun and creative superhero imaginations..." 

It's not my place to say anymore than this...

Your whole life can change in 30 seconds...

If you are healthy and happy... be so very thankful... grab your kiddos, give them a big hug and kiss, and say a prayer of thanks...

Hottest day yet...

I think this might have been one of those sessions where mom, grandma and auntie left the session shaking their heads... thinking to themselves... nope... Kellee got nothing.  It was the hottest day of the summer... and the mosquitos were out for a feast.  Pretty much after the first image below was taken (about 5 minutes into the session)... "C" really wasn't too keen on getting his picture taken.  And really, I don't blame him.  We were all melting... and the mosquitos were quite interested in biting him on the neck.  Nevertheless... no matter how fast little ones are... I only need a split second... and I was able to take advantage of several split seconds.

Here are just a few favorites of "C"... and his little brother "I" on the hottest day yet this summer :) LOVE IT!!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Auntie just had beautiful twins... a little boy and girl.  She looks amazing.  I love this picture...

The "M" girls...

I was so happy when "M" called me to photograph her girls again.  I met her and her beautiful girls when I first started my business... and had a mini session at Kids Klothesline.  Two of the images... one of them being a sibling shot... are still on my top 10 all time favorite list...

 

 

Well... here they are again... 2 years older... just as beautiful...

 

 

 

 

 

Mom didn't really want to take this one... but I think she'll find that she's glad I said she ABSOLUTELY HAD TO DO IT WHETHER SHE WANTED TO OR NOT (I can get bossy on occasion :)  I really would give anything to have a shot like this with my children...

 

To the "M" girls... thank you for calling me... I love taking your picture :)  Have a great summer!

The “Girls Only” Workshop will be held on Sunday, July 26th from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

What the workshop will cover…

1.      The basics of aperture and shutter speed.

2.      Composition

3.      Different types of natural light

4.      Ways to take better pictures of your kiddos.

 

Who  is this workshop for? *

Girls who own a DSLR camera and want to get started learning how to shoot in manual mode as well as shoot in different types of natural light.

 

The workshop will be held at a TBA location in the Toledo, Ohio area.  Your registration will include the following:

·        Three + hours of personal/group discussion

·        Beverages and Lunch

·        “Girls Only” Workshop manual

Dead Sea Sinkholes...

No... I have not been swallowed up by one of the Dead Sea's sinkholes (did you all read that article last week...)... but I might have well been.  Two of the three kiddos had camp AND swim team... everyone needed to be dropped off at different times... but picked up at the same time.  Of course I had shoots as well... fit those in between the drop off times... AND TO TOP IT OFF... OUR AIR CONDITIONER WENT ON THE BRINK... AND IT WAS HOTTER THAN HECK... AND MY OFFICE IS UPSTAIRS... AND HEAT RISES... AND I TRIED TO WORK BUT AFTER 5 MINUTES I WAS A PUDDLE ON THE FLOOR WITH ONLY EYEBALLS LEFT!!!!  CRAZY, CRAZY, CRAZY.  I dropped into bed every night EXHAUSTED.  WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY... IS THAT I GOT NO WORK DONE... NADA... ZERO... ZILCH...

Tomorrow morning though... no camps... kiddos go to the babysitters for 4 hours... I am bound and determined to get through my processing.  So to all of my amazing, patient clients... THANK YOU!!!

I will leave with a few favorites from a session 2 weeks ago... this little guy is growing up fast!!!

This was little "M" last September...

And here he is now... such a happy little guy.  Mom is madly in love with him...

 Yup... I'm a rule breaker... I told "M" to go ahead and get in the tractor that was parked at Wildwood :)

 He was not a happy camper when the ranger came up and told us it was time for him to get down :(

But it only lasted a few minutes... (if it had been Grayson, I would have been hearing about it ALL DAY!!!)

The "W" family... and a whole bunch more...

One of my favorite families.. the "W" family... had family in last Saturday.  Eight kiddos in total (ranging from 9 months to 16 years old).  What do you do with 8 kiddos?... hmmmm... ice cream and bubbles came to mind.

Here are a few favorites from the session... it was a crazy time... LOVE IT WHEN IT'S LIKE THAT!!!!

Vegetable Garden...

Let me rephrase... a 5x5 vegetable garden (Does that count?)... Maddox learned about vegetables in preschool this year... as well as gardens.  He made it clear that he wanted one as soon as it was warm enough.  So... after my shoot on Saturday... we headed over to Creques on Sylvania Avenue (the best place to buy flowers and such).

Tomatos, Cucumbers, Peppers, Pumpkins and Cantelope (ok... one fruit)... all were planted in a very small 5x5 area.  It started to rain and then it happened (and it doesn't happen very often) Zoe took Maddox into the garage... and started to paint signs with him.  I could hear hear them giggling and her teaching him how to paint... and shade... and write.  I love these rare times...  Maddox absolutely ADORES Zoe and worships the ground she walks on... and Zoe continues to be jealous of Maddox.  Not sure why...

I thought the signs were precious... and they make the garden extra special... I'll remember this day for a long time...

 

 

 

 

 

Up next... favorites from Saturday's session... 8... yup... that's right... 8 kiddos!!!  And how do you keep 8 kiddos in one place... BUBBLES and ICE CREAM CONES.

It was fun session... I'm going to bed... but here is one that I love...

Beautiful, talented "M"...

"M" will be a senior at Zoe's school this year... she is amazing and talented... and super smart... you might recognize her from this picture...

 

The one in the blue dress... Alice (IF YOU ONLY KNEW THE LINES SHE HAD TO LEARN FOR THIS PLAY... I WOULD HAVE HAD A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN... SERIOUSLY !!!!). 

Most importantly though she was an amazing role model to Zoe (as well as all of the high schoolers in the production) and truly made Zoe's first time theatre experience wonderful.

"M" was amazing to photograph... stunning and yet so animated in images... I told her I knew I had gotten a new "all time favorite" image... one that will definitely go up in a display... only to discover there were two new all time favorites... one is above... and the other is this one...

 

and I liked it in b/w as well...
