    No introductions needed...

If you'll remember... I photographed this little cutie patootie a couple of months ago... and he was off schedule... needed a nap... and very, very serious (not his personality at all)... see below from 2 months ago...

    Img_3245psbwblog

(I still love the above image though... one of my favorites)... Well, we went for another round... this time he had plenty of sleep... and was his ususal happy go lucky self.  For those of you who frequent the best bagel place this side of Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan... Barry Bagels... no introductions are needed... (MAKE SURE TO CLICK ON EACH PICTURE TO SEE FULL FRAME)

    More to come...

    Humbled...

I had one of those days... they are far and few between... but I had one today... a day that I'll remember for the rest of my life.  It's about 1 a.m... and I actually had the option of going to bed early tonight (a rarity)... but I am sitting here trying to digest this day.

I have been so fortunate to receive such positive feedback from my clients... some have made me laugh... while others are so heartfelt... I call my mom, read the words, and cry.  My mom tells me over and over... you need to add a "testimonial page" to your website.  In response I say... "yeah, yeah, yeah"... but it will never happen...

But today, I stumbled across words that touched me... humbled me.  It is 12 hours later... and I've read these words over and over... and I still cry.  I've debated on sharing it... it is private... but it is the biggest compliment I've ever received... ever... in my life... that I affected someone I've never met... someone who has experienced the loss of a child (unimaginable to me)... and indirectly, through my photography, I affected him...

In turn... his words... have affected me...

    Letters to my son Henry

I saw this post on someone else's blog this morning. They are photos of a little girl who has Fanconi anemia. You can tell by her eyes. She is beautiful and so is her little sister.

KELLEELASER / photographer: The little angel... a year older

It is nice for parents to have pictures like this. The photographer who did these is really good. She lives in Ohio, though. Otherwise, I think I would call her and see about getting shots of Jack and Joe.

I miss you. I was thinking it is time to head out to the cemetery. It is a long weekend. Hopefully I'll make it. Love.

Meet Little "J"... cousin of Miss "S"

Remember this cutie patootie... Miss "S"?

    Img_4697psblog

Well, meet her cousin... cImg_9244psblogutie patootie Little "J"...

Okay... so I literally have been photographing little guys under the age of 2 for the past week (although one of my sessions this morning was with Miss "M"... a little 5 year old... the other session was with... what else... a 14 month old smilely boy - will post soon).

I met up with little "J" yesterday.  So, so cute... and a personality to boot.

    Img_9287psbwblog

    I AM SOOOOOOOO BIG!!!!

    Img_9343psbwblog

The little angel... a year older

Remember this little angel from last year... Miss "H".

    Img_2559text

She's a year older and even more beautiful than last year...(I saw her again at her fundraiser - for Fanconi Anemia - at the Carranor Hunt Club in Perrysburg this past Saturday night).

And this year... I got to meet her little sister... Miss "G".

    Kids Klothesline

Well, this morning was my Kids Klothesline session... If you haven't been there... its in Perrysburg... and you'll find one of a kind items... beautiful coats, sweaters, dresses, etc.  About a month ago, I sent out a mass e-mail regarding this session... spend $100.00 and get a free 15 minute mini session today.

I will admit... I was a little nervous this morning.  It was my first time doing this type of session.  Typically, I have an hour plus to meet your kids... get to know them and have them feel comfortable with me.  So, to have only 15 minutes with children I've never met... well...

BUT... I LOVED IT!!!  The kids were so stinkin cute... and had great little personalities which really came through in the pictures.

So... here are just a few that we got this morning... what a great way to start the weekend! (PLEASE CLICK ON EACH IMAGE TO SEE FULL FRAME)

    Surprise Daddy!

Surprise Daddy! This is why Mommy had to get off the phone so quickly... She wanted to surprise you with pictures!  (BE SURE TO CLICK ON IMAGE TO VIEW FULL FRAME)

    Img_8707psbwblog

This is "M" and her clan... She's another out-of-towner... all the way from Atlanta.  She called me last summer and I had to cancel with her before my move.  We've been in touch on and off all year... and finally... we had the opportunity to meet tonight.  She and "the boys" have been away from Dad for about a week... so this will be a nice surprise.

    Meet "the boys"...

    Img_8621psbwblog

This was such a fun session...  the boys were funny and so cooperative... they were even willing to do a clothing change in middle of our VERY WARM... no, scratch that... SCORCHING SESSION.  We were melting out there tonight!

    Meet "J"... the big brother...

    Img_8598psblog

He keeps his little brother "G" in line... how cute is he?

    Img_8651psbwblog_2

    Img_8585psbwblog

Can you tell from the expression above... "G" can be a little stinker.  At the end of the session, I took them to the little frog pond at Wildwood.  Kids love this area... and by the end of most of my sessions, the kids are soaked (the boys were soaking wet in the first picture with Mom)... In any event... "G" tried to spray me with water while I taking pictures of his brother... love it!

Thus far... kids I photograph get their hands and feet wet at the frog pond... but this was a first...

    Img_8700

    I love what I do!

    Until tomorrow.

    Brothers...

Okay... so this rain is killing me.  For all of those who have to reschedule... no worries... we'll get it done.

This morning I woke up to darkness and thought... UGGGH... I'm going to have to cancel yet another session.  But by 8:00 a.m... I had the perfect conditions for b/w images.  My session was at 10:00... and as I was driving towards Wildwood... I saw the impending dark clouds... chasing me down Central Avenue.  Luckily, the "P" family was willing to "risk it"... lightening and all... and so we proceeded.

The "boys" were great... the youngest, "B"... was a character.  Here's one example...

    Img_8520ps

Sixth grade silliness... love it... (see "B"... I told you I was going to post some of these :)

What was even more surprising was that despite the lack of light... I have a hard time putting most of these images in black and white.  I have to credit my 28mm 1.2 lens... love it.  It pulls light from everywhere... so even in cloudy, overcast conditions... this is what you get... Img_8443psblog

The above was under a dark overhang...

    Here's B's big brother... "D"...

    Img_8546psblog

    Img_8550psblog

    He's a serious one...

These next two... as I was downloading them... I got a little teary eye'd.  I'm not sure why... sometimes I react this way when seeing certain images... perhaps because I have 2 boys... and I know before long... they are going to be this age.

    Img_8559psblog

    Here it is in b/w...

    Img_8559psbwblog

    Here's another...

    Img_8536psbwblog

Okay... give me a minute... I'm weepy again :)

Alright... one more from the session... Img_8501psblog

One more thing... I am still looking for tomorrow night's session... Tracy "K" who has a little one "R"... please call me to confirm... I do not have your number.

And while I'm here... here's a few from Seattle... still working on these...

Baby "L"... just 4 weeks old...

    Img_8335psbwblog

    Img_8340psblog

    Love the hand...

Miss "O"... you'll remember her from last year...

    Img_8294psblog

    Img_8300psblog

and finally... one of my Zoe... we found this cool store... Archie McPhee's and these painted posts were in the parking lot (each post was a different animal... and Zoe just happens to love flamingos).

    Img_8272psblog_2

And finally... and I never post pictures of me... but I just got this in an e-mail (which explains why its blurry... but I look better blurry in pictures anyway :)  Here's me at the finish line of the triathlon... so much fun... can't wait for next year's.

Alright... I'm done for now... until tomorrow.

Looking for Tracy K... Thursday's session

I am looking for Tracy K's phone number... she booked back in May and is scheduled for this Thursday at 6:00 p.m.  Please call me to confirm your appointment 419.345.9071.

Back from Seattle... and my Chicago family.

Back from Seattle... it was so nice to see old friends... and read two books... and sleep in every morning... and eat ice cream as well as Noah's chocolate chip bagels every day... and go to bed early (seriously... latest was 10:00 p.m.... which NEVER happens)... rent movies during the day from the hotel t.v. and shop in heavenly downtown Seattle.  This past week was the most down time I've had in quite awhile.  It was crazy before I left... last Sunday, I ran my first triathlon (which started at 7:30... and was SO MUCH FUN... I AM HOOKED!)  My husband brilliantly booked our flight from Detroit at 12:15 p.m.  His theory was that I would push harder to finish knowing I would want to get a shower before we left... and I guess there was some method to his madness.  In any event, I am REFRESHED... and looking forward to the next crazy two weeks (school is starting and I am booked solid till mid-September).  I will post some of my Seattle kids and brand spankin new babies in the next couple of days.

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing an out of town family... the "C" family from Chicago.

I have a few new favorites from this shoot... do little girls come any prettier?

And finally... I think this next one is my favorite of the month... I just love the intimacy (and light) in this image...

Keep checking back... there should be new pictures up every day!

Cutie Patootie Twins... and a few more from Wednesday's shoot...

My heart about melted when Mom opened the door and out peaked two little twin toe heads... Meet "T" and "N"...

    Img_7855psbwblog

Miss "T" was quiet... reserved... dainty... knew all the songs to the Sound of Music (which we sang together) and seems to keep her brother in line...

Okay... I lied... a few more from Wednesday's session...
