For those of you in your mid to late 30's... think 1987... think Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer, think WITCHES OF EASTWICK... I loved this movie...

We had some fun on Friday afternoon... Here are the new generation of witches... meet "M&M"... 2 of Zoe's best friends from school... you've seen them before... just not together at once.

I am thinking of calling United Colors of Benetton to see if they need new models... I have wanted to take a picture of these girls together for quite awhile because I love the coloring of each of them...

I woke up this morning feeling a little off... but promised Zoe we'd run the Race for the Cure... came home from it and suddenly felt like I had the flu... felt so bad I had to cancel my afternoon session (sorry "G" family)... In any event... after sleeping for 4 hours, I am feeling a little better... For those of you waiting for your orders, I've e-mailed or called you letting you know I'll be dropping them off tomorrow.  Thanks so much for your understanding...

New Sister...

Okay... I had every intention of posting these last night... I got half way through proofing and then Maddox got up saying he needed me to lie down with him... Well... the next thing I knew.. it was 6:30 this morning... wow... what a difference it makes to get more than 4-5 hours of sleep... I AM FEELING REFRESHED!!!!  HAPPY FRIDAY!!! 

Remember cutie, cutie patootie "K" from the Spring?  She was one of the little troopers that braved the cold with me...

Well, "K" welcomed a new sister a few months after we photographed her...

But before I introduce her... I have to say... there is nothing better than having "K" run all the way across the park and jump into my arms... happy that she is going to get her picture taken again... thanks "K"... you made my night...

Okay... back to business... introducing Miss "L"... (do little sisters come any cuter...I think I'm in love...)

I have to say... "K" is an amazing big sister... she was incredibly attentive... and so happy to have a new sister...

I love this one of them together...

Okay... I know I've been showing a lot from this field... but I can't help it... I love the light here... I'm trying to take it all in before winter... you know... where we live in complete darkness for the next 6 months... (okay... I'm being a little dramatic this morning... must be the sleep :)

Halloween Mini Session update... I haven't heard back from everyone... so the session is OPEN once again... I have a few of you on my waiting list... so I will be sending you an e-mail today to see if you are still interested...

Larry King Live...

If you follow my blog... you'll know that over the past year, I have photographed several autistic children here in Toledo.  As I've mentioned before, using natural light and a lens where I can stand far back, as well working in large open spaces, helps me photograph these children looking "natural".  A lot of the time... when proofing... I really see the pain they feel minute by minute... and it is heartbreaking.

This morning, one of my clients called asking if she could use an image for the Larry King Live show.  Apparently they are covering a story about Autism tonight.  It is nothing definite... but if you happen to be watching (I certainly will be)... you might... and it is BIG MIGHT, see one of these images of "G"...

This little guy has made tremendous headway because his parents too have been steadfast with different therapies and education.  1:382 children are diagnosed with autism each year... it is wonderful the media is beginning to shed some light on this disorder...

My "R" and "S" families...

Remember the "bug incident" I mentioned in the prior post... well, here he is... this is what got "entangled" in Miss "H's" hair... yes... just lovely...

I would have taken a picture of it in her hair... but I was off to the side having a heart attack...

Favorite picture still...

Remember my boy "C" from last summer?  He is autistic... as such... using flash can be and was a problem.  His mom called saying that all previous experiences with photographers had been disastrous... well, last year we changed that... and got some beautiful images of him.

While I have a ton of "favorites"... this by far is my most favorite... reason being... you can't "fake" the look of loving your brother... and I was there to personally witness how "C's" sister watches out for him and loves him...

The goal last year was to have him make eye contact with the camera... well... what a difference a year makes (his family has been steadfast with therapy and programs for autism).

He really is quite comfortable in front of the camera now... he is just a beautiful child...

IT MUST BE THE GENES... look at this beautiful family...

HALLOWEEN MINI SESSION UPDATE...

It is now closed... although I do have a waiting list... I sent an e-mail to those interested last night... I asked that I get everyone's confirmation by tomorrow night.  Once I know where we are number wise... I will start calling those on the waiting list.

What a weekend...

I have to say... it's been an amazing weekend...  with 4 amazing shoots.  You saw my little guy "F" from yesterday morning's shoot in the prior blog entry... My plan was to post some from the remaining 3 shoots... but it's 1:27 a.m... and I have to get some sleep.  So... I'm going to post three of my favorites from last night's session.  But before I do... I thought I'd share an this image I took after my run this morning... No better way to wake up than to go for a long run in this beautiful light...

I think I'll stick with childhood portraiture... :)

Okay... now for last night's session... my daughter has been friends with these super cute and super fun twins since the first grade. 

And this is their equally super cute little sister...

Last one for tonight... I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS ONE... this is my idea of what "Communion" pictures should be... (click on the picture to see the girls' expressions... LOVE IT!)

I have so much more to share... yes, we had an "incident" with a large stick bug that became entangled in one of the twins' hair... it about gave me a heart attack... I dislike any bug over 2 inches long... can you blame me?

My Utah family...

A couple of months ago, a family from Utah called me... they were coming for a wedding and wanted their little guy photographed while they were in town.  So we met at Wildwood this morning... and well... it was just one of those shoots that was easy... this was one of the first couple of shots I took... pretty much set the tone for the entire shoot... so stinkin cute...

Before I post a few more of this cutie patootie... I have to post the family pictures... I don't think families get more photogenic than this... (again... I only had to take a few to get the ones below)...

Little Man "R"... and update for Halloween Mini-Session

I was proofing these late last night... and this little guy "R"... so serious... and so sweet... I just fell in love with his face... look at these BIG BROWN EYES...

 

This next one I get a little weepy over... it took him a couple of minutes to warm up to me... as such, "Mom" did exactly what she was supposed to do... wrap him up and protect him until he was comfortable...

Which didn't take long...

Finally... "R" wants everyone to know... he's not giving up the Cheerios cup...  :)

Okay... Halloween Mini-Session update... LET ME JUST SAY...

LOCUST COURT RESIDENTS ROCK!!! 

I haven't spoken to everyone as of yet... but the people that did call me today were so incredibly accomodating... I'd like to hear from a few more people before I confirm this... but I would say its a 90% GO... same with the Toledo location... a 90% GO... You'll hear from me in the next couple of days...

I just have to ask...

Okay... so finding time to be "blonde" is difficult... (I literally was brunette when I woke up this morning).  I usually schedule my hair appointments late... because it takes about 3 hours (yes... it takes 3 hours just to cut and color my hair... I have a ton of it... it was great in the 80's)... I go, I sit, I get my head scrubbed... WHICH I LOVE... followed by a complete blow-out and straightening... I mean... it doesn't get better than that... UNLESS OF COURSE YOUR HUBBY DOES WHAT YOU ASK HIM TO DO AND PUTS YOUR BOYS TO BED BEFORE YOU GET HOME...

So I have to ask... when it comes to "putting the boys to bed"... DOES THIS COUNT?  HMMM... I THINK NOT!!!

Where's the furniture you ask?  The carpets were just cleaned, and my furniture is in my dining room.  See... my mom is coming for a visit next week... meaning the entire house has to be clean... why... BECAUSE SHE HAS TO THINK I KEEP MY HOUSE THIS CLEAN ALL OF THE TIME...  :)  YEAH RIGHT!!! :)  :)  :)

Okay, it's past midnight... I am going to bed... I finally got little "RC's" pictures proofed tonight... I will share some of them tomorrow...
