Well... we didn't have any rain today... but I am glad I switched days. Albeit a muddy mess over at Wildwood... it was sunny... and pretty warm (considering we just endured a blizzard 2 days ago)... and the kiddos that showed up... massively cute as usual. Here are just a few of my favorites from yesterday...

Uh... the weather guy lied to me the other day when he said, "Blue Skies and 50 plus degrees expected for Sunday"... SO NOT HAPPENING!!! Snow and showers instead... I am definitely staying in bed under the covers Sunday :)
Tomorrow though... despite a little snow... will be sunny. I think my morning sessions are filled (still waiting on 2 to see if they are able to switch days)... If by chance you need a morning session... call me and I will see if I can fit you in (I will just start a little earlier)... Afternoon sessions are still open... but if I don't hear from anyone today... I will probably just cancel those all together.
Okay... so I was going to post pictures one by one... but then I saw my friend Jean's blog and she did a couple of collages... LOVED IT... so... LET IT BE KNOWN... I AM COPYING HER IDEA... (and I completely suck at putting together collages...)
Our initial plan (discussed over a fabulous lunch... ahhhh... we had the best lunches while we were in Vegas...) was to find the strip of wedding chapels and then photograph the newly married couples. We figured the couples getting married late at night would be really interesting people... and it would be fun to share their story. But after a $20.00 cab ride... the driver clearly had no idea where to go (or... quite possibly he was just playing it that way)... so we decided to go back to the strip outside of Bally's. Around 2:00 a.m... we came across this character... albeit homeless... his manner was dignified if you will... I never got his name... but I liked him immediately... and as you can see below, he was happy to be in front of the camera.
This was my favorite image... and after... you'll find my "Jean" inspired collage (click to see it bigger)...
For some reason... when Grayson first began to talk... he referred to Maddox as "FAFA". Not sure why... but the name stuck... despite the fact he can say "Maddox"...
Today... Grayson was looking for his "Spiderman" video... Maddox found it and gave it to him...
Me: "Grayson... say thank you to "Fafa"..."
Grayson: "Thank you Fafa."
Maddox (with one eyebrow raised... as if to say... I put up with this silly name for him... but in no way am I going to put up with it for you): "Uh, Mom, don't call me Fafa."
Note: I have no idea what is going on with my website... I was getting ready to add new pictures... and all of the changes I made a few months back have been deleted... and all of my old pictures (ones that I deleted myself) are now back in the gallery... UGGGGGHHHHHH.
I will be deleting all of my pictures and starting over... this time with only 20-25 in each gallery.

So many things to share with you all...
1. Vegas, Part II - coming very soon.
2. Last Spring Special - I've had about a gazillion e-mails asking if I will do just one last "spring special"... so why not this weekend... It is supposed to be 50+ degrees on Sunday... sessions begin at 10:30 a.m. until noon / and then again from 4:00 until 5:30. Call me if you would like a spot... $125.00 / 5 images on a CD.
3. Mother's Day Special - currently in the works. I will be offering a Mom's Day special in April... must be at least 3 generations... grandmas, moms and daughters...
4. Open House - in May... a chance to mingle and mix... and see all of the new products and packages I will be offering. Same pricing structure... just new packages (i.e.... digital negatives and a very cute... to die for... beach bag)...

I heard this song on the radio in Las Vegas... remember at Christmas... the "Diamond is Forever" commercial where a couple is sitting at a red light... the guy reaches for his girlfriend's hand and drops a gigantic journey pendant into it... the commercial that makes roll your eyes in disgust... while you're secretly wishing your significant other would be insightful enough to think of something so sweet... :)

Back from Las Vegas / WPPI... amazed, overwhelmed, excited... these are just a few words to describe how I feel right now. I am planning an open house in May to share some of the new things I am going to offer. One of the reasons I was so excited to attend the trade show was to see what is out there... to be able to touch and feel stuff... see the quality first hand. Let me tell you... there is some very cool stuff to offer in the photography world... things that just came out this year... I can't wait to share them with you all. Once I have nailed down a location and date for the Open House... I will let you all know.

Vegas was a blast. Went with my roomie "Heather"... the girl I roomed with while attending Audrey Woulard's workshop in Chicago. Her friend (and now my friend :) Jean attended as well. We had so much fun... attended a private party with some well known photographers (some of my favorite in the industry). As you all know... I hate getting my picture taken. But, there was a photo booth... and costumes... and well... here we are (and the worst of it is... we weren't drinking :)
The next night... rather than getting a good night sleep (thought I would sleep a ton on this trip... but it didn't happen)... we decided to experiment with some of the information we learned in our day and night classes and stayed out until 3 a.m. photographing people on the street... Those images will be shown in the next post... Vegas, Part II.

A few favorites from one of two sessions this morning... This little one... C.H.A.R.A.C.T.E.R... so funny... didn't have to do much... just click, click, click. LOVE IT... I will write and share more when I get back... it is 1:30 a.m. and I have an 8:00 a.m. flight... (UGGGGHHH... I never sleep)...
I was asked to do a segment on child photography... FIVE (5) THINGS THAT WILL HELP YOU TAKE BETTER PICTURES OF YOUR KIDDOS. It is still in the works... and I thought maybe you could help me with what to talk about. Also... I've had a flood of e-mails asking if I might be offering just one last March Special... perhaps this time on a weekend... and where I give a little more notice. So... I am thinking March 22nd... a couple of sessions in the morning and afternoon again. If you are interested... please send me an e-mail as well. After that... April weekends are mostly booked as are May and June. I will though double book on a Saturday if necessary (taking Sundays off this year... YAHOO!)... and will begin mini-sessions on Mondays in April.
Finally... one last thing... I promise... I will be ending sessions November 1 this year. This will ensure that all images needed for Christmas gifts and cards will be done before December 1. If you would like to book your Fall session, please let me know. I do require a deposit now to hold your place... but if you are booking months ahead... it will not be due until the month prior to your scheduled session.
I am so looking forward to meeting all of my new clients as well as seeing old ones again. I think it is going to be a great year...

Yesterday... well, the weather couldn't have been better... and the light... perfect. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE FAMILIES THAT CAME OUT WITH THEIR KIDDOS. I got to see some familiar faces as well as some new ones... LOVE IT... I don't know about you... but I had a ball... fun, fun, fun chasing all of the little ones around... and to top it off... I would have to say it was almost "warm" outside...
