WTOL... new ways to take better pictures of your kiddos.

Well... WTOL invited me back for another round of "HOW TO TAKE BETTER PICTURES OF YOUR KIDDOS"...

If you'd like to see the clip... click on the link below.  This time around... it was a little easier.  I didn't go deaf and I didn't get tunnel vision... There were a couple of sets of pictures that were left out... and that threw me a bit.  For those of you expecting to see your pictures... I am sorry.  Next time... (yes... they've invited me to come back again... not sure what we'll talk about... if you have any ideas... let me know).

    Here we go... http://www.wtol.com/global/video/flash/popupplayer.asp?clipId1=2638963&at1=News&vt1=v&h1=Photography+tips+for+kids+from+Kelle+Laser&d1=306300&redirUrl=www.wtol.com&activePane=info&LaunchPageAdTag=homepage&clipFormat=flv&rnd=59059291

ANOTHER SALE ON GALLERY WRAPPED CANVAS...

    Hi all...

I wanted to give you the heads up that I just received an e-mail from the company I use for Gallery Wrapped Canvas.  They are having a "Summer Sale"... and whenever they offer a sale... I will always pass along the discount to my clients.

From July 1st through August 31st... all canvases are 33% off regular pricing.  Below is a list of the sale pricing.

This past March, I attended the WPPI convention for professional photographers.  My main goal in going was to see and touch products being offered by the photographers I most admire.  With regard to "gallery wrapped canvas"... I saw varying qualities of canvas.  The "cheap" canvas offered by some companies... all I can say is that it looked... well... CHEAP!!!   The company that sources my canvas not only offers the highest quality... but is widely used by the most respected professional photographers across the country.   Canvas is expensive... but so is custom framing.  Canvas is a piece of art... and the upside is not only is it stunning on a wall... it is also "ready to hang".

If you are interested in ordering a canvas... please send me an e-mail at kelleelaser@yahoo.com.

Remember this little guy from last Spring...?

    IMG_1282psblog

I thought he was by far one of the "prettiest" boys I had ever photographed.  Well, not only has he gotten "prettier" (I'm sorry... I just have no other words to describe him... he is a beautiful child.)... he has a new baby sister.  (BE SURE TO CLICK ON EACH PICTURE TO SEE FULL FRAME)...

It might not show from these pictures... but this little guy was very active... in the next shot... you'll see a blur... he was running circles around his baby sister.  LOVE IT!!!

     More coming tomorrow...

The two year olds come out...

It always happens during this time of the year... all of the two year olds come out.  I photographed 3 two year olds this week alone.  While it is my favorite age to photograph... it is also my most challenging age... all they want to do is RUNNNNNNNNNNNN... and I have to CHAAAAAAAAAAAASE them if I want to photograph them.  The upside... they usually wear themselves out by the end of the session and parents are almost guaranteed a quiet ride home and possibly even a nap :)

Meet "G"... she had a ton of energy and a BIG personality to boot.  Her favorite things... her mom's purse, my cell phone... and her belly :)  As you'll see below... she wore herself out by the end of the session... and the shot I got is my favorite from our hour together. (BE SURE TO CLICK ON EACH PICTURE TO SEE FULL FRAME...)

Five Classic Beauties + a very cute dog

These five sisters... ah... I could see them modeling for Ralph Lauren.  Their coloring was amazing (it is almost shameful to put them in b/w).  Indeed, it is a rarity these days... at this age... to find this type of classic beauty.  More impressive though... these five sisters are just as polite and lovely as they are beautiful... Here are just a few of my "portraiture" favorites from yesterday's session.

IMG_9820psblog  Have another session this morning... will post a few of those favorites tonight... HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

    Letter to NWA

To Whom It May Concern at Northwest Airlines...

I just had to write and thank you for making my trip to California this past Friday night so... uh... memorable.  The haphazard way your airline cancels flights last minute really gets a passenger's heart pumping... especially those who have to get to California to take part in their dad's 69th surprise birthday party.  What is truly impressive is the way you've trained your ticket agents to ease your passenger's anxiety by falsely promising another flight.  What do I mean by this you ask?  Well... here is where it gets INTERESTING... your agents fail to tell their newly calm passengers that if they checked a bag with Northwest before the flight was canceled... they will not be admitted on US Airways until they get that checked bag.  What makes this all the more CHALLENGING is that Northwest will not release any bag that's already been checked.  HMMM... I know it is a bit confusing at first... I mean I had to take 3 shuttle trips (with an hour's time before the new US Air flight was scheduled to take off) between McNamara terminal and Smith terminal to fully understand the corporate conflict that exists between the two airlines.  Neither airline wants to be responsible for the cost of delivering a bag the next day... and hey... with gas prices as high as they are... I can sympathize.  Just give me the heads up beforehand so I can fib a bit to the US Air ticket agent and tell them I never checked a bag.  BTW... a big shout out to those who train the US Air ticket agents... way to go... putting one's hand up in front of a very confused and frustrated passenger while hissing at them at the same time is very effective.  I mean... it did shut me up for a moment and question at that point how badly I wanted to get to California... because pummeling the woman was tempting.   Fortunately after my third shuttle trip back... and under the advisement of NWA's baggage department... I decided to just say I didn't have a bag at all.  A BIG THANK YOU to the male ticket agent at US Air for ignoring the "hand-raising hissing" incident that took place 30 minutes prior, knowing full well that I had checked a bag at NWA... and pretending to believe me when I assured him there was no other bag other than my carry on.  He did though point out that if I continued to be barefoot (oh, yes... I might not have mentioned that my flip flops broke on the second shuttle trip and believe it or not... no one sells flip flops at the airport)... I wouldn't be allowed on the plane.  HMMM... I told him I would do my best... way to be encouraging.

Other than being shoeless, paying for a direct flight, ending up with a lay-over in Vegas, and not getting into LA until 3:00 a.m.... my TRIP WAS FAB.

    Your loyal passenger...

    K

    Thank you...

A big thank you to my dear friend "A"... for always thinking of my boys...

    Sisters...

Maddox update:  the old Maddox is back... thank goodness...

New update:  Remember this little guy "T"... Two open heart surgeries thus far in his first year of life... I just got news that he is back in the hospital with pnemonia.  I'm a big believer in the power of prayer... so please add him to your prayers.

So I headed out to Perrysburg today for a shoot with three beautiful sisters... all with different personalities.  LOVED THEM!!!  I had so many favorites... but here are just a few...

This was my personal favorite of the shoot - (this one is in color above... I just liked it in b/w).  Typically, my favorites are usually not the parents' favorite... but this is how I saw the girls during the shoot.  I just love their expressions... (I told them to pretend they were walking the "catwalk"... and this is what we got... LOVE IT!!!)

    A few favorites from Tuesday...

I had the opportunity to photograph this little cutie patootie 2 year old on Tuesday morning.  I love this age... albeit it is my most challenging to photograph.  Two year olds always have their own agenda... whether it be running away... or having conversations with themselves... or just plain refusing to look at the camera.  But 2 years is a pivotal age... these little guys are no longer babies... rather, they are just becoming who they are going to be... and however challenging it might be... I love capturing it.

Here are just a few of my favorites...

Side note:  A big thanks to those of you that sent e-mails regarding Maddox.  Update:  We are still dealing with side effects from the anesthesia... I barged into my pediatrician's office yesterday (I plan to get FREAK MOTHER OF THE YEAR in all venues :) after Maddox was physically unable to climb into the car... and winced when walking.  Additionally... he acts as those he's intoxicated at times... all side effects of Fetanyl.  According to my pediatrician... these side effects that can last up to 48 hours.  If I don't get "my Maddox" back tomorrow... we'll be heading to the hospital to speak with the anesthesiologist.

Back to the regular scheduled programing... the first image is my MOST favorite... (MAKE SURE TO CLICK ON EACH PICTURE TO SEE THE WAY IT should LOOK...)
